As my 35th birthday month comes to an end, so does my daily blogging. About a month ago, I gave myself a challenge to post something once a day during my favorite month. I completed my goal and am heaving a sigh of relief – it isn’t easy coming up with something to publish on the net day after day.

So I’ll end my month of fluff on a serious note.

I’m in a happy place right now. I’m finally in love. And not just any kind of love – this type of love makes every past relationship look like a disaster. A mistake. A complete waste of time. On the other hand, I am grateful: Thank you for showing me what I don't want in a relationship.

For the first time in my life, I’ve finally found someone I can -- without a shadow of a doubt (he will probably make fun of me for using a cliché) -- spend the rest of my life with. Allowing this to happen has completely changed the way I view the world and I like it. I like it a lot.

Yours truly,
Susan

Tonight, Deanna and I attended a VCU "banquet" for prospective and enrolled students. I don't know about you but when I hear the word banquet I think of a full meal. That wasn't the case but at least we had something to snack on:

Anyway, I'm glad we went. We had a lot of questions for the VCU representatives so it was a very productive evening. Deanna received some cool goodies too.

Nada & Taylor:

Taylor and Deanna are buds - they hope to room together as freshmen.

I am a proud VCU Mom.

Still hungry though. Go Rams!!!

Happy Birthday to my good friend Yvette. For her birthday, she decided to run the Suntrust National Marathon. What a great decision that was - she PR'd with an amazing time of 4:29!

Adrian and I saw Yvette twice during the race - she was gracious enough to stop running and take a few pics with me.

First Yvette sighting (between miles 10 & 11):

Second Yvette sighting (mile 16):

Congratulations Yvette!

I still love to run but my fitness interests are moving towards strengthening and toning. Summer is right around the corner. Are you ready? Let's go! This vid gets me pumped.

With the cheesy sales pitch for the shoe/Nike brand aside, who else digs Adele? That chick can sing.

Today, I turned 35. Woo hoo! Viva la 30's! I received so much love today from family and friends - thank you all for making my 35th memorable.

To celebrate, Deanna and I ate ourselves silly at Sabai Sabai. I have enough Pad Thai for two more meals.

March is a very good month indeed.

I created a monster (thanks to Eat Live Run for the inspiration). A spinach-feta-turkey burger that totally annihilated my hunger pains.

I thought the meat was going to turn out dry but the spinach prevented that from happening. This burger has tons of flavor and a really nice texture. I'll be making these again.

This song is about death but it makes me think of the progression of life - it's my redemption song.

Great Gig in the Sky ~ Pink Floyd featuring Clare Torry

Fun Fact: Clare Torry is a British pop singer who improvised these vocals within two takes as Pink Floyd recorded Dark Side of the Moon in 1972-73. Many modern singers have tried to duplicate or interpret her spontaneous magic but have failed miserably (just my snobby opinion).
